Vacancy for Fourteen Locks Canal Centre Manager

This is a unique opportunity to manage a popular visitor attraction based in High Cross, Cwm Lane, Newport, Gwent. The Centre Manager has day-to-day management responsibility for the running of the Centre, and is supported by a Deputy Manager and an enthusiastic and dedicated Volunteer Team.

The Centre functions as an information-hub for the Cefn Flight of Locks and the Mon & Brec Canal as a whole. It also has a small gift shop, meeting room and cafe, the latter being under separate management. The Centre is a popular venue which, in pre-pandemic times attracted 50,000 visits a year. The Centre is run as a Community resource on a not-for-profit basis.

The role is for 4 days per week at a gross salary of £1,600 per calendar month (£2,000 full-time equivalent). The initial contract will be for a period of 12 months, renewable thereafter. A Job Description and Terms of Employment summary can be obtained by emailing info@mbact.org.uk
