Boat Trip on Edith-Elizabeth (30 mins) or The Lord Raglan (1 hr)

We will be operating our smaller open-sided craft “Edith-Elizabeth” or our larger community boat “The Lord Raglan” on this day from Goytre Wharf. Please note that there is no guarantee which boat is running on any particular day.

Please check back on this page below that the boat is running on your chosen day before you travel to Goytre Wharf. You can find how to get to Goytre Wharf on our Goytre Wharf visitor information page.

We will run either the Edith-Elizabeth or the Lord Raglan from 10:30am to 4:00pm on the days that we are running trips. The last trip will start at 3:30pm. You don’t need to book in advance. However, when you arrive please contact our on-shore crew who will advise which boat and which time slots are available. You will need to pay when you arrive for your trip, and we will issue you tickets for your reserved slot. On busy days all of the time slots are often reserved by lunch-time and unfortunately we may not be able to accommodate you. There is lots to do at Goytre Wharf whilst you wait for your trip. We take cash or card payments.

“Edith-Elizabeth” is split into 2 sections with open sides and a roof. It has a maximum capacity of 10 people. Trips on this boat are for 30 minutes.
“The Lord Raglan” is an enclosed boat with roof hatches that may be open or closed depending on the weather. It has a maximum capacity of 12 people for short trips. Trips on this boat are for 1 hour.

The cost on the Edith Elizabeth is £5 per adult, £3 per child, under 2 yrs free for a 30 minute trip. Please pay before you board.
The cost on the Lord Raglan is £8 per adult, £4 per child, under 2 yrs free for a 60 minute trip. Please pay before you board.

We welcome any well-behaved dog onto the Edith-Elizabeth, but we regret that only service dogs are allowed on the Lord Raglan.

If you have a pram or pushchair you can leave it with our on-shore crew.

If you have reduced mobility then you may find getting on and off the smaller Edith Elizabeth boat difficult as the boat does wobble side to side. Our crew will assist you if you wish. You may prefer the larger Lord Raglan boat as it has a boarding ramp, a lift down into the cabin, two dedicated wheelchair spaces and a disability friendly toilet onboard. Please note that there is no guarantee which boat is running on any particular day. Please contact us in advance, or discuss with the shore crew on the day if you have any particular wishes or requirements.

The larger enclosed boat, The Lord Raglan, is also available for private hire for longer or special trips. For these trips we can accommodate up to 20 passengers. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and we will be able to discuss with you what we are able to provide on this boat for bespoke trips. Our 2023 charter prices can be found in our 2023 boat price leaflet. To book one of our Community Boats please contact Glyn Williams at boats@mbact.org.uk or by phone on 01633 892167 / Option 3.

Our Boats are licenced to run passenger services and are operated by trained and qualified volunteers. For your added safety, our boats are equipped with life-buoys. We provide a short safety briefing before each trip. We would ask that you pay attention to this briefing and follow the instructions of the crew.
