Lower Brake Lock Reopened July 2016, South Wales Argus

Lower Brake Lock Reopened

January 15, 2021July 16, 2016

“A Cwmbran canal lock has been re-opened after nearly 100 years thanks to restoration work by volunteers.

Lower Brake Lock, on the Ty Coch section of the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, is the first of six local locks to be restored to their former glory as part of the Heritage Lottery Fund’s Waterways Project.”
